Organizing Your Home

While some home-organization gurus will tell you to start in the kitchen, I’m going to advise beginning in another area. The kitchen will be the third place we attack and this doesn’t make it less important, but I will explain why I’m starting elsewhere.

First, if you look around your home, you probably see lots of clothes. Am I right? You’ve got clothes in closets, you’ve got clothes in piles (meaning to put them away and not having time, eventually just pulling them out of the pile and wearing them), and you’ve got clothes in laundry baskets. You might even have rumpled clothes in the dryer or (heaven forbid!) the washer. If it’s the former, the clothes are only rumpled. If it’s the latter, they’re probably rumpled AND smelly and (potentially) mildew-y. Yuck! Somewhere in this Mt. Vesuvius of laundry, dirty, clean, or otherwise, is your home. And I’m guessing that if you have a laundry room, you keep the door closed, as there are multiple Mt. Vesuvii piling up in there. If you don’t have a laundry room but have a laundry closet (with room for the washer, dryer, and some shelves), I’m betting you haven’t seen the top of your dryer for weeks or even months. It’s covered in rumpled clothes and towels, right?

Have you guessed where we’re starting? That’s right! The laundry area of your home. And here’s why: if you get your laundry room cleaned and organized, you’ll be much more apt to actually DO the laundry that plagues you and helps your home to be disorganized. And because you won’t want to undo the work you’ve done in the laundry room, you’re more likely to fold the laundry when it’s done, and put it away. There’s something that’s a breath of fresh air about a straightened laundry room—sort of like when you walk in to a closet where everything is hanging neatly.

So start with small steps:

Can you see the floor? No? Then pick up what’s on the floor and put it in laundry baskets. If you don’t have enough laundry baskets to accomplish this, then just sort the things in to piles outside the laundry room. I make piles of light clothes, whites, darks, and towels/rags.

Can you see the top of the dryer? If not, put the excess clothes in the aforementioned piles. Grab one rag to dust and have two plastic grocery bags—one to collect junk, and the other for later. Dust the dryer from the lint-leftovers and use a little window-cleaner if it doesn’t come off readily. Don’t neglect the area where the “start” button is—that can be grimy, too!

Can you see the top of the washer? If not, repeat the steps in #2, using the window cleaner if necessary.

Okay - now you’ve got your washer & dryer cleaned off. Congratulations! Let’s continue to take small steps in the laundry room….

Now take a critical look at your supply-shelf. Do you have empty bottles or boxes lying around from spent detergent and/or fabric softener? Clean those out. Use that grocery bag that you’ve put excess dryer lint in and pitch those empties. Then organize what’s left. If you need to add things to your shopping list, now is the time— now you know what you’ve got and what you need to buy. When you organize your supplies, I recommend putting the detergent and any liquid softener above the (gasp!) washer. Make it easy to reach. Put the dryer sheets over the dryer—why reach more than you have to? If your shelves are higher than you’d like, use the top ledge of your washer & dryer to hold supplies! I’ve never seen a washer and dryer that don’t butt up to a wall for the electrical plugs they need. So use that space to your advantage. Put the detergent box or bottle on the top of the washer, along with whatever other washing supplementals you have. Put the dryer sheets on the top of the dryer so you don’t forget and end up with a load of static cling!

If you have wire-shelves above your washer & dryer, you’ve got a built-in place to hang a trash bag. Use that extra grocery-sack and cut one of the handles in half. Then tie those two ends around some of the wire-shelf and use the bag to collect dryer lint and empty containers from your emptied laundry supplies. When it’s full, cut it down and put it in the trash and put up a new one.

Now look at your floor. Does it need sweeping? If so, grab a broom and sweep. It won’t take you more than 5 minutes and you’ll feel much better about your room and your work—especially if something you’ve just washed falls on the floor as you’re transferring stuff to the dryer.

Congratulations! You’ve done the preliminary work of organizing your home—you won the battle in your laundry room! Take a 15 minute break and enjoy this victory. Then start the task of doing the excess laundry that you’ve been collecting—one pile at a time. When the first is done, swap it out immediately to your dryer or to hangers, if that’s more appropriate. Take it one pile at a time—in other words, small steps! Soon, you’ll find that it really only takes 5-10 minutes to fold warm clothes from the dryer and put them in laundry baskets, ready to transfer to the appropriate rooms, closets, and drawers. The rewards are huge here—keep up on it (one load every day) and you’ll win the war against the Mt. Vesuvius of clothes in your home.

How To Market Yourself To Potential Employers

How to Sell Yourself to Employers

Your job hunting tactics mould the kind of work you are getting.

It takes more than being at the right place, at the right time; marketing yourself is something you should prepare for. Employers will only hire you if you are able to communicate your knowledge and skills. Developing and utilizing your marketing flair is, therefore, important to land you the job you dream of!

You are a Product

And because you are one, you need to pack yourself in a saleable image. It is important that you present yourself in a pleasant way. Start with your resume. Don’t hand in unpolished personal data. Is it updated? Does it respond to the job ad? Customize your resume according to the needs of the vacancy. Your cover letter should also be in ‘mailable’ form meaning that it should not tolerate nor accommodate typos. Especially don’t misspell your employer’s name! Then when you step into a room of a panel of interviewers, make sure you look agreeable and ready to do business. Remember what they say, “First impression lasts” and with job interviews, that interview day may be your only time to convince them you are worth it. So, do your best.

You are more than a Package

Consumers barely buy something just because it looks pretty. They often want to know “what’s in it for them?”. When you go out there and market yourself to employers, you follow the same concept and tell them what you can do for them. They won’t hire you for nothing. They always want something back commensurate to if not more than what they are paying you. Applicants sometimes fail the interview by asking so much about what the company can do for them. Remember they’re the ones you have to convince to buy you and not the other way around. So, don’t go bragging and making them feel they owe you a favor by letting you come here to waste your time for a little chitchat.

Your Sales Spiel

There is no such thing as too much advertisement. If you want that job that bad, then go your way to get it. Yet, there are some pointers that you might want to take to heart to make your spiel right. Avoid being overconfident or too talkative during your interview. Nobody wants a blabbermouth. Know the company and the open position well and tailor fit your answers to the traits needed in the position. If you know these information, it’s easier to persuade them that you are a perfect fit for the job. You are in to impress them by making them find the qualities they need in you. However, don’t lie. Recruiters do reference checks so, make your spiel impressive but honest.

Make them Come Back for More

Only a few interviews end leaving employers a good impression. End yours with one. After you have emphasized the skills that you can offer, let them know you are interested. Good advertisements on television always leave the customer remembering about a good line that was said. It may be serious or funny but it leaves them thinking about it. If you can close your discussion like a bomb, they are most likely to get back to you a day or two later.

15 Tips To Lose 10 Pounds Or More

There was a time in this world when the need to lose weight was completely unheard of. People ate well, but the worked well too. They woke up early in the morning and then engaged in a whole day’s work. This work was mostly physical labor. People worked on fields digging, sowing, harvesting. They tilled they soil, rode horses, worked on farms and ranches. The result was that they could afford to eat almost anything they wanted in whatever quantities they wanted. But that was ages ago. The world has changed so much since those days. Life styles have changed so much and the comforts and facilities have increased so much.

But every rose has its thorn. As a result of all these comforts and amenities the state of physical well being has really changed. Most of us have sedentary jobs that demand little or no exercise at all. To put it simply, things have become so damn easy. And just as can be expected, weight gain has become a major concern for almost every city dweller.

During the period of thoughtless youth it is not such a major concern. The young practically eat nothing and so weight problems do not bother them so much. But as soon as you turn twenty, you start showing signs of weight gain and that too in all the wrong places.

It’s not about the hour glass figure or the perfectly sculpted and toned body. It is more about staying fit and remaining healthy to ensure a long, disease free life. Every body knows that those extra pounds spell illness. All over the world people are switching to a healthier life style and the catch line is indeed weight loss.

There is only one thing that you have to bear in mind. Weight loss does not happen by itself. There are only two ways to accomplish it… The first is by watching what you eat and the second is by seeing to it that your body gets the exercise that it needs.

As you read this post, my hope is that you’re continually amazed by all the “everyday” things you can be doing to lose 10 pounds…or more. Simple effective ways that can help you shed all the unwanted pounds in no time…

15 Tips To Lose 10 Pounds Or More

Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.

Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.

Eat intelligently. The difference between man and beast is that we are driven by intelligence while beasts are driven by instinct. Don’t just eat something because you feel like eating it. Ask your self whether your body really needs it.

Go easy on tea and coffee. Tea and coffee are harmless by themselves. It’s when you add the cream and sugar that they become fattening. Did you know that having a cup of tea or coffee that has cream and at least two cubes of sugar is as bad as having a big piece of rich chocolate cake?

Do not skip meals. The worst thing you can do while watching you diet is skip a meal. It has just the opposite effect of what you want. You need to have at least four regular meals every day.

Fresh vegetables are better than cooked or canned vegetables. Try to eat your vegetables raw. When you cook them, you are in fact taking away nearly half the vitamins in them. And canned vegetables too are processed and are not nearly half as good as fresh vegetables. When you buy your vegetables it would be a good thing to see if the label says that it is pesticide free.

Choose a variety of foods from all food groups every day. This is a fine way of keeping deficiency diseases at bay. Change the items included in your diet every day. This is an excellent way of keeping deficiency diseases at bay and it helps you to experiment with a variety of dishes and there by you do not get bored of your diet.

Try to have breakfast within one hour of waking. It’s always best to have breakfast within an hour of waking so that your body can charge itself with the energy it needs for the day. The idea is not to wait for your self to get really hungry. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but that does not mean that it should be the most filling meal of the day.

Go ahead eat cheat food, but only for flavor. There are many things which you have to avoid from your diet but which you may have an undying craving for. Do not avoid them altogether. You could call them cheat foods and indulge in them once in a while. But take care just to tingle your taste buds, don’t hog on them. Instead of that share them with others.

Watch your fat intake. Each fat gram contains 9 calories so by reading the total calories on a food and knowing the quantity of fat, you can estimate the % of fat, which should in no way exceed 30% of the food.

Instead of frying things try baking them without fat. Baking or BBQ’ing is by far a healthier method of preparing food than frying. BBQ’ing requires lesser oil or fat.

Avoid crash diets. They are bad for health and you will gain what you have lost once you take a break. Crash diets are not a solution to weight loss. It might seem as if you have lost few pounds but the moment you give up on the crash diet every thing will bounce back with a vengeance. Take a look at it in this way. Do you think that it is possible for a person to survive on a crash diet for the rest of his or her life? Certainly not! So at some time or the other, you will have to give up the crash diet and then you will see for yourself that a crash diet does more harm than good on the long run. Crash diets may have a lot to promise, but very rarely do these promises ring true. Crash diets are things people go on in order to wear an old dress or suit for a particular occasion. That’s the only purpose that they serve as far as I can see.

God gave us teeth for a reason… Therefore we should develop a habit of chewing all food including liquid food and soft foods like sweets, ice creams at least 8 to 12 times. This is essential to add saliva to the food, as it is only in the saliva that sugar is digested. Often we find that whatever goes into our mouth goes down like lightning. We hardly give the saliva any time to act on the food. So does digestion take place like it should? Do we just stuff our tummies with food that doesn’t get digested or in other words that doesn’t yield the benefits that it should? Exercise out doors as far as possible. There are two advantages of doing whatever you are doing out side. One advantage is that it gives your body a chance to get a lot of the much needed fresh air and sunshine. The second advantage is that the surroundings keep you perked up and it is a break form remaining cooped up all day long

Volunteering

You have valuable things to offer other people. Even if you feel as though you have absolutely nothing to contribute to society, there is undoubtedly something you can do in a volunteer capacity. Can you read? You might volunteer to read to children at a story hour in the local library. Can you talk? You can volunteer to visit an elderly person in their home once a week and simply have a nice chat. Can you pick up trash? There are plenty of volunteer organizations with the main goal of beautifying local parks. Just think of all the great things you can do, with very little effort, which will make a huge difference in someone’s life. Find something that you love to do and then start doing it as a volunteer. There are volunteer positions for just about anything you’re willing to do. Children’s hospitals have volunteers who go around to the different rooms and sing babies to sleep. Local government offices take in volunteers to greet people at information booths and direct people to the right offices. Schools have volunteer bus riders who make sure the kids are all under control for the duration of the bus ride. There is no limit to the good things you can do as a volunteer in your community.

Helping others just feels good.
You might be having the lousiest of days, but then you go and volunteer to help with a party for disadvantaged kids in your community; seeing their eyes light up and hearing their squeals of delight will surely erase any melancholy feelings you have about the first part of your day. Sometimes, when you know you are doing something good for someone without asking for anything in return, it can be an absolute rush. You will feel better about yourself knowing that you are doing something that is changing someone’s life in a positive way.

Volunteering can lead to new professional opportunities.
When you are typing up a résumé in hopes of landing a new job, you can put any sort of experience on there to include volunteer experience. You may have never worked in an office setting professionally, but if you have spent a few months volunteering at an office you can list all the skills you learned there when applying for a paying job. Oftentimes, monotonous tasks are assigned to volunteers such as filing, answering phones, and opening mail. These are the exact skills, however, that potential employers might be seeking out. Another aspect to take into consideration is that sometimes a volunteer position will turn into a paid position for the right person. For example, you might be volunteering as administrative help for a local non-profit organization, when suddenly there is room in the organization’s budget for the position to be a paid one. Or maybe the leaders of an organization recognize your hard work as a volunteer and offer you a paying job. Not all people volunteer with the hopes of getting hired into a permanent position, but it is a wonderful way to learn new skills while also giving something back to the community.

You will make society a better place
. Not only can volunteering make your life better, it is also to the benefit to the society you live in, for if there were no volunteers picking up trash in the park, who would do it? If there were no volunteers helping out disadvantaged youth, who would help these kids stay out of trouble? Volunteers do what they do without expecting pay in return; therefore the local government does not need to fill the gaps with paid positions. This keeps taxes low. Volunteers also help people who would otherwise be out causing mischief within society, so this keeps crime levels low in the community. When you volunteer your time and talents, you aren’t simply getting a great feeling and helping yourself learn new skills, but you are helping everyone in your local area and beyond. Now that’s a great feeling.

The Readiness For Change

You start your quest in getting your life together by figuring out what it is that would make your life feel more complete. Do you want to be happier? Do you want to be more satisfied? Are you looking for more contentment in your life? If you don’t know where you stand right now, then you certainly won’t be able to figure out what you need to do in order to reach the happiness, satisfaction, or contentment you crave.

WHY CHANGE NOW?

Getting your life in order can entail many different things. Maybe your finances feel out of control, but your physical health is great. Perhaps you have the highest degree you can possibly attain, but your house is so full of clutter you can’t see the floor. Whatever has led you to decide to get your life in order, there is no harm in making positive changes in every aspect of your life…even the ones that you didn’t necessarily think needed improvement.

READINESS

Have you had your “a-ha” moment? What has led you to decide to get your life together? Obviously there has to be something going on that makes you feel as though your life is not in order if you have made the decision to make some changes. Did you wake up one morning and make the bold proclamation that today is your day to change your life? Or did you receive another delinquency notice in the mail to add to a growing stack? Maybe you broke off a relationship with your romantic partner and you’re ready for a fresh start. If you know your motivation, you are more likely to attack the task at hand and begin down the path of changing your life with full vigor.

Are you just sick of your current life? Sometimes there isn’t a big, defining moment that leads people to want to change their lives. Instead, it may be a series of events that shed light on the fact that it is time to get their life together. Many people simply realize for no particular reason that the life they are living is just not the life they had envisioned for themselves, and if this is the case for you, there is still great motivation to change your life for the better. Examine all the things you do not like about your current situation so you can fashion a new life that will make you happier.

You decide when you’re really ready. Your parents or other loved ones may have been harping on you for some time to get a better job, go back to school, stop eating junk food, or whatever else needs changing in your life. The decision ultimately rests with you, however, and until you are personally ready to make all the necessary changes, you probably won’t have the dedication needed to see real results. Don’t do something just because someone else tells you that you need to…do it because you want to, and because you are also ready to take on the responsibility of getting your life together.

Don’t change your life to mirror someone else’s.Maybe you were going along enjoying life when you met someone who really seemed to have his or her life together, and it made you feel a little inferior. Perhaps you decided at that point that you were going to make big changes and get your life together in order to be more like this person. Beware of making big changes just because you get the impression from someone else that they have some sort of better life than you do. The decision to change your life should rest in a conscious decision on your part that life just isn’t working out the way you would like it to, and now is the time to make the necessary changes to get everything in order. You should also realize that the side of people that is public, in other words the side of people that you actually see, is oftentimes not a true representation of what is going on in their lives. The person you know who seems so well put together and in control of things, might actually be crying themselves to sleep every night because they are so miserable. So yes, there is always room for improvement in people’s lives, but the decision to get your life together should be a decision you make on your own, regardless of what other people say or do. Don’t allow yourself to be convinced that your life is unhappy or out of control when in fact it isn’t all that bad.

WILLINGNESS

Some changes aren’t easy.If you have some serious issues in your life that need to be addressed, such as addiction or destructive relationships, you are going to have to work mighty hard to get your life in order. If you have always gone out on Friday nights with your friends, and then decide that you need to get your life together and stop drinking, you may find it harder than you thought to turn down their invitation when Friday night rolls around. Even small changes are sometimes difficult; someone who starts each morning with a flavored coffee drink on the way to work, may find it hard to break the habit after he or she decides to try to end unnecessary expenses in an effort to become more financially secure. The question as to whether you are truly ready to take on all the challenges associated with getting your life together is a question that can only be answered by you.

How gung-ho are you?It is one thing to decide that you need to change your life, but it is another thing entirely to take the necessary steps in order to do so. Just recognizing all the different aspects of your life that need improvement can be exhausting, let alone implementing all the essential steps for change. If you feel ready to attack the aspects of your life that you don’t like, then move full speed ahead. You may find that, as you begin to make changes and notice differences, your motivation will increase exponentially. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. If your friend hands you a book about getting your life together and suggests to you that your time has come to fix your life, you probably will be less willing to analyze your life as you might have been if you had come to the conclusion yourself. The person who makes the decision that your life needs a little more order is you, and nobody else.

ABILITY Sometimes, getting your life together will entail things like paying down debt or paying for occupational training. If this sort of thing sounds out of your financial league, you should recognize that where there is a will, there is a way. There are many people who are, at this very moment, delivering newspapers or moonlighting as kitchen staff to get the necessary funds to pay for the things they desire. The opportunity to make extra money is all over the place; you just need to be willing to seek it out and work a little harder than usual to obtain it.

If you don’t have the resources, create them.

It’s up to you…mostly.Yes, the responsibility of getting your life together rests squarely on your shoulders. This does not mean that other people cannot assist you along the way. You never know who might have just the advice you need in order to move forward, and sometimes it comes from the most unexpected places. Maybe you have worked next to someone for years and never knew that they were once in a position that you would love to be in, such as a professional singer or perhaps a teacher. While you are attempting to figure out ways to get your life together, it would be wise to chat with other people about their various life experiences. You really never know what sort of valuable information you might discover about someone and additionally might be able to apply to your own life.

You can do it, really. Some goals seem so incredibly unattainable that many folks won’t even bother trying to reach them. If you wistfully dream about someday being out of debt, what is stopping you from starting to pay your debt down slowly this very day? If you dream of losing weight, why not go for a walk? Little changes can make a big difference, and you need to stop looking towards a quick fix. The more you work towards a goal, the easier it’s going to get. Consider the beginning of your efforts as a sort of initiation period that everyone needs to go through before efficiently getting their lives together. You may look back on these days in amusement someday, with a sort of fond admiration for your willingness to move forward. “I remember struggling to get up the nerve to enroll in college,” you might hear yourself say in the future, as you look on to your classroom full of students. “If I could do it, so can you!”

What sorts of changes are ahead? This book emphasizes four main categories of change for people who are looking to get their lives together: emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual. A person cannot hope to have their life in order if they are an emotional wreck. Emotional problems, whether minor or major, have such an enormous affect on a person’s daily dealings that nobody can have a smooth life without working through whatever emotional problems he or she might have. Physical health also has a tremendous influence on how together someone’s life is. Inside, a person may feel like a million bucks and be ready to conquer the world, but if they can’t walk up a flight of stairs without panting and sweating, they are not living life to its full potential. Financial issues are a big problem for many people. Even if every other aspect of a person’s life is in order, financial problems can cause someone to feel quite anxious and out of control. Finally, spirituality is brought up as a major aspect of getting a life together for a few reasons. Real solace can be found in spirituality for many people, but even if someone decides to denounce all religions, they should do so after making an informed decision. Spirituality is just another section of people’s lives that always has room for improvement and reflection. Other topics are mentioned, and are all worthy of consideration by someone who is looking to get his or her life in order: attention is given to things like occupational satisfaction, educational goals, and the idea of starting a whole new life somewhere new, complete with a different home, job, and friends. There are countless other topics that should be brought into consideration when getting your life together, and just because something isn’t covered here, it doesn’t mean it’s not an important and valid topic that deserves attention. You are the only person who truly knows what you need to change in order to get your life together, but the hope is that the topics discussed in this book will work as an outline for making great things happen for you.

Change can be awful scary and intimidating.Your current life, although it is perhaps not what you truly want, is what you are used to, and for this reason alone, you may be reluctant to try to switch things up. But you’ll never know what might have been if you don’t give changing a try. It may be that someday you look back on the day you decided to get your life together and breathe a sigh of relief that you were willing to take the first step.

Stress Management For Goal Achievement

Stress management wouldn’t seem like something that would be a part of setting goals but it could be the difference between you achieving them and not achieving them.

There is positive stress and negative stress. Positive stress adds anticipation and excitement to life, and we all thrive under a certain amount of stress. Deadlines, competitions, confrontations, and even our frustrations and sorrows add depth and enrichment to our lives.

Our goal is not to eliminate stress but to learn how to manage it and how to use it to help you achieve your goals. Insufficient stress acts as a depressant and may leave you feeling bored or dejected; on the other hand, excessive stress may leave you feeling all mixed up inside.

What you need to do is find the optimal level of stress which will individually motivate but not overwhelm each of us.

How Can I Tell what is Optimal Stress for Me?
There is no single level of stress that is optimal for every person. We are all individual creatures with unique requirements. As such, what is distressing to one may be a joy to another.
And even when we agree that a particular event is distressing, we are likely to differ in our physiological and psychological responses to it. That’s just human nature. The person who loves to arbitrate disputes and moves from job site to job site would be stressed in a job that was stable and routine, whereas the person who thrives under stable conditions would very likely be stressed on a job where duties were highly varied.
Also, our personal stress requirements and the amount which we can tolerate before we become distressed changes with our ages. It has been found that most illnesses are related to unrelieved stress; for example, anxiety disorders, bowel disorders etc.

If you are experiencing stress symptoms, you have gone beyond your optimal stress level; you need to reduce the stress in your life and/or improve your ability to manage it.

Stress symptoms include, but are not limited to:
Anxiety attacks
Headaches
Fatigue
Loss of appetite
Increase of appetite

How Can I Manage Stress Better?
Identifying unrelieved stress and being aware of its effect on our lives is not sufficient for reducing its harmful effects. Just as there are many sources of stress, there are many possibilities for its management.
However, all require work in order to be effective. Changing the source of stress and/or changing your reaction to it. So you might be wondering how do you do it? Let me show you.

1. Become aware of your stressors and your emotional and physical
reactions.
Notice your stress and its beginnings. Don’t ignore it. Don’t gloss over
your problems.
Determine what events stress you out. How much do these events mean
to you?
Determine how your body responds to the stress. Do you become nervous
or physically upset? If so, in what specific ways?

2. Recognize what you can change.
Can you change your stressors by avoiding or eliminating them
completely?
Can you reduce their intensity over time?
Can you shorten your exposure to stress by taking a break, or leaving the
physical premises?
Can you devote the time and energy necessary to making a change (goal
setting, time management techniques, and delayed gratification
strategies may be helpful here)?

3. Reduce the intensity of your emotional reactions to stress.
The stress reaction is triggered by your perception of danger and/or fears
physical danger or emotional danger, and fears of failure etc.

Are you viewing your stressors in exaggerated terms and/or taking a
difficult situation and making it a disaster?
Are you expecting to please everyone because I’m telling you that you
can’t?
Are you overreacting and viewing things as absolutely critical and urgent
all the time? Do you feel you must always come out the winner in every
situation?
Work at adopting more moderate views; try to see the stress as
something you can cope with rather than something that overpowers
you.
Try to temper your excess emotions. Put the situation in perspective. Do
not labor on the negative aspects of everything find a positive in them if

Different Types Of Interior Design

Different Types of Interior Designers
Interior Designers rarely work in every field. It is common
for them to pick areas to specialize in. By choosing a
specialty, you can further enhance your skills and abilities
in that mode of design. It will certainly make for a better
portfolio, and will allow you the time to become an expert
designer in that field. Here are some of the specialty fields
that you can go into.
Sometimes designers choose to specialize in residential
areas, and sometimes they choose to specialize in commercial
properties. Some even narrow their field that they specialize
in by only doing work for certain types of homes and
businesses.
It is also quite common for designers to refuse to
specialize at all. Some will work wherever the work is. This
leaves the field a little bit wider for them, but specializing
is a more professional route to take. It is also better for
your portfolio in the long run.

Residential Interior Designer
These designers do most of their work in people’s homes.
They design various rooms inside and around the home. There is
a lot of freedom in this type of field because clients
generally let their designers have free reign to let their
creativity create a beautiful space for them. You can do
inside work, patios, guest houses, and even garages.
Many Interior Designers prefer this type of work because it
is less stressful, and the deadlines are usually a little bit
more relaxed. Homeowners rarely harass you to keep them posted
on every aspect of what you are doing, so it can be a
rewarding specialty. When you are allowed to create something
that makes both you and the client happy, the feeling is much
better.
The money that can be made doing residential design can be
a little bit less lucrative at times, but there are always
wealthy people that can use a great interior designer as well.
Sometimes, the work for residential areas can be quite small
also. This type of work is generally for the designer that is
in love with the aspect of being creative, rather than the
need to be rich. If you are thinking of Interior Design as a
means of expressing your creativity, this could be the right
place for you.

Commercial Interior Designer
Designers that specialize in commercial property and work
do projects for businesses. The type of business varies
greatly. You can do work for banks, hotels, restaurants, law
firms; you name it. Any business that you can dream of is open
to this specialty.
Good people skills and negotiation techniques are a vital
aspect of this specialty as well. After all, you are dealing
with business people. They respond well to a good business
person. You could be required to design an office space, a
hallway, lobby, and possibly and entire interior building. The
possibilities are endless here.
This is a specialty where your ability to estimate the
value of your own work will come in handy because many
businesses accept bids from the designers that they are
interested in working with. Also, you will often have to work
under specific instructions as to what the client is looking
for, so listening skills will be important here.
This type of specialty can be very lucrative if you can
establish a good rapport with your client. Doing a good job
will lead to a steady, return client, and your ability to
satisfy this client will often guarantee you more work as the
client’s word of mouth can lead to other businesses desiring
your services.
You may also have to work a little more closely with your
client in this field as well because business people like to
be on top of things to ensure that they are done right. It may
be a little bit annoying at times, but it is worth it in the
end.
These are not the only branches of specialty. Some
designers can choose any sub branch to specialize in as well.
There are quite a few and all of them are intended for the
designer that has a particular forte in the field. They also
offer great employment opportunities for the designer that
would like to make extra money on the side. They are as listed
below.
Kitchen and Bath: This is a branch that you may wish
to specialize in if you are quite adept at it, or if you
have a general knack for it already. There are a great
many possibilities in this branch because these are areas
of the house that are often in need of dramatic change,
and they are high traffic areas. You should have
knowledge in cabinetry and plumbing for this particular
branch.
Windows and Draperies: This seems like a small area
to specialize in, but the windows of a house or building
play a big role in the overall structure. They are a
source of energy efficiency in every home, and they are
often changed on a yearly basis. Basic heating and
cooling knowledge helps, as well as dry walling, and
space management.
Lighting: The lighting of any area is often a bit more
complicated than plugging a lamp into a socket. Often, it
is the addition of special lighting that can completely
change a room’s environment. Some small additions or
subtle lighting can change the way a room feels.
Lighting is an often overlooked sub branch of Interior
Design.

Caring For Your Pet.. Pet Health

Understanding Ingredients in Dog Food
Understanding the ingredients of your dog’s food items is a must for the dog lovers or dog owners. Whenever you feed the dog with different kinds of food items, you should always read the label and understand the contents about the dog feed types that are being used in such commercial preparations. You should understand the ingredients while buying food for your dog and also know what to look for.

Feed items include dry and fresh food. The fresh dog food that is prepared in homes generally consists of ingredients like freshly cut chicken pieces in addition to the cranberry juices, blue-green algae, etc. If you come across any different kinds of preservatives and if the dog develops all of a sudden signs pertaining to the food allergy, suspect the unwanted ingredient in the feed items given. Similarly, understand about the moisture status. If the food item has more moisture, your dog may prefer this as well. Beet pulp, pasta, Soy bean oil, wheat middlings, calcium carbonate,
magnesium oxide, copper sulphate, iron sulphate, zinc oxide, choline chloride, etc. are often the ingredients in case of vegetarian based diet items offered to the pet animals like dogs.

Raw egg, chicken, beef, mutton, fish, quail etc. are often the preferred ingredients in case of dog diets that are prepared on the basis of the nonvegetarian items. Taurine is one of the essential ingredients for the dog’s nutrition. Like wise, in the case of dogs feed with frozen fish items, the vitamin called thiamine needs to be supplemented as an ingredient.

Many premium type of dog food preparations contain essential fatty acids, carbohydrates with adequate fiber contents, vitamins like A, D, E and B complex vitamins.

Furthermore, minerals like zinc, is an essential ingredient for skin health status and calcium, which is an essential ingredient for bone growth, tonicity of muscles. They should be enriched in these food items. However, the cost of those food preparations are comparatively more expensive than the food preparations with general ingredients. Though it may be better for your dog’s health.

Dogs Need Different Diets at Different Ages
Dogs need different diets at different ages. Yes. This is true. For example, the puppy needs milk as the major food item while an adult dog may need beef or chicken in addition to the boiled egg and milk. So depending on the age factor, the diet schedule varies in reality for the dogs like any other species. Puppies need greater amounts of protein, fat and carbohydrates than an adult dogs. Furthermore, puppies need more frequent feeding schedules in a day, unlike an adult dog. The movement based requirements of diet are more in the case of puppies, since they are often more active than the adult dogs. Elder dogs need restricted protein but the protein needs to be easily digestible and easily assimilated in the body. The diet schedule should have ample supply of water for them. Feeding aged dogs too much protein may finally lead to over burden to the renal structures and ultimately, the dog may end up damaging filters in the kidney.

This is true especially when the immune system of these dogs is compromised due to many factors. Similarly, the elderly dogs need less food only
because the movements of the adult dogs are highly restricted and hence, they have to spend a limited of energy.

Female dogs in the pregnancy stage need not be fed a full stomach since it may cause some discomforts to the animal. However, the pregnant animal and the nursing animal need special type of food items that deliver a balanced type of nutrition with proper supplementation of vitamins and minerals. The nursing animal with puppies need to be fed with enough amounts of calcium and hence, there will not be any calcium based deficiency and the bones of the puppies will be strong without any curving
